It was this Ontario, full of potential, that brought me here 30 years ago after growing up in Newfoundland. It's the reason I stayed, to raise my daughters and provide a good life for my family.
Today, life in Ontario seems more difficult than ever. Affordable housing is hard to find, housing prices are out of control. It's nearly impossible to find a doctor, and the cost of living keeps rising.
Seven years under Doug Ford have cost you dearly.
In every region, we see the impacts of a government that has lost sight of what matters most to you.

Combating rising costs
After seven years of Doug Ford's Conservative government, the cost of living is higher than ever, from basic necessities like groceries to rent. His bad deals and wasteful, unnecessary projects have taken a heavy toll on everyone. We will take immediate action to combat rising costs.
Accessible public healthcare wherever and whenever you need it
Decades of Liberal and Conservative governments have left our public health care system in ruins, to the benefit of private companies. It's time to take back control. The New Democrats brought Canada a publicly funded and publicly delivered health care system. Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP will strengthen and protect this system.
Building affordable housing
Housing is a human right. Everyone deserves decent, affordable housing in the community where they want to live. Doug Ford's failure to build housing and keep rents low has made it nearly impossible for Ontarians to buy or rent decent housing they can afford. Housing starts are down and homelessness is on the rise. Things need to change, and fast.
Repairing our schools to give children the keys to success
Schools are at the heart of our communities. But after decades of underfunding and budget freezes, classrooms are overcrowded, and buildings are falling into disrepair. Every child, regardless of income level, deserves a quality public education in schools that meet their needs.
Defending jobs in Ontario
Faced with American tariffs, people are worried about what the future holds. Will they lose their jobs? Will things become even more expensive? As our country and province grapple with this economic challenge, Doug Ford has resigned, plunging us into an election.
Marit Stiles will be a premier who stands with us. She will defend Ontario jobs, fight as part of a strong Team Canada, and put in place mechanisms to build a more resilient Ontario, capable of withstanding future threats to our economy.

Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP will restore transparency, accountability, and integrity to government after decades of self-serving governments that have put private interests before the public good. The Liberals sold off Hydro One, leaving Ontarians with skyrocketing energy costs. From Doug Ford's corrupt land grab in the Greenbelt to the sale of Ontario Place, his government has consistently prioritized the well-connected insiders over ordinary people. Ontarians deserve better.
The Ontario NDP will strengthen lobbying rules and the Members of Parliament Integrity Act to ensure decisions are made in the best interest of the public, not for profit-driven political friends.
Build an economy that's on your side
We believe that public funds should be used for the public good and that government spending should reflect the true priorities of Ontarians. This means ending wasteful projects like fancy tunnels and luxury spas, and ending backroom deals with corporate insiders and wealthy donors. Instead, we will invest this money in healthcare, schools, road improvements, and building new homes.
The budget is a matter of priorities. Investing in strong public services is not only the best thing to do, it is also the most fiscally responsible choice.
