Bio

For more than 13 years, Peggy Sattler has worked to get results for the people of London.

Her commitment to strong public education led to her election as a Trustee for the Thames Valley District School Board. While on the board, Peggy worked with fellow trustees, staff, teachers, students, and parents to tackle the challenges facing the education system.

As board Chair, she was also accountable for balancing a $660 million budget. In her role as Western Region Vice-President of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, Peggy earned the respect of elected officials across party lines for her dedication to public education and her work to put students first across the province.

As Director of Policy at Academica Group, Peggy worked with the Elgin Middlesex Oxford Workforce Planning and Development Board and the London Economic Development Corporation on an innovative local labour market project called Worktends.ca. By providing students, employers, job seekers, employment service providers, workforce planners and others with reliable and timely information about the local and regional labour market, the project will reduce unemployment and help local decision-makers create new jobs and economic opportunities. She also played a key role in the establishment of the Ability First coalition, an award-winning initiative to engage London employers in hiring people with disabilities.

Peggy’s first private member’s bill, the Learning Through Workplace Experience Act, has received support from MPPs from all three parties. If passed, the bill will enable the expansion of co-ops, internships, field placements and other programs at Ontario colleges and universities.

Peggy Sattler is a community leader who brings people together to solve local problems and achieve results. Peggy and her husband, Neil Bradford, make their home in London with their children, Jon and Emily.
